Vladimir Pavlovich Modenov,
Professor of the Chair of Mathematics of the Department of Physics of MSU (Moscow), Doctor of Science in physics and mathematics.
Full Member of the International Academy of Informatization (1997). Member of the editorial boards of the “Physics of wave processes and radio-technical systems” and “Electrodynamics and microwave, short wave and optical frequency engineering” journals.
Awarded by the “Work Veteran” and “In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow”.
In his candidate’s thesis he presents an efficient Galerkin method scheme for solving vector waveguide problems. His doctoral thesis “Non-self-adjoint problems of the theory of waveguides” is dedicated to the mathematical construction of the theory of impedance waveguides.
He has trained three Candidates of Science.
He has published more than 180 scientific and more than 40 methodical works including: “Differential-parametric method” (DAN, T.296 no.3, 1987), “Galerkin method in non-self-adjoint boundary-value problems in the theory of waveguides (JHMMP, T.21, no.1, 1987); “Equations of Mathematical Physics” (joint authorship with B.P. Demidovich, 1965), “Mathematics Textbook”, p.I (1977) and p.II (1972), “Mathematics for Students and University Entrants” (2002).
